Soumaya Khalifa
Soumaya Khalifa is founder and CEO of Khalifa Consulting, Inc. Soumaya is a seasoned intercultural and leadership consultant with areas of concentration on the Arab and American cultures. She is also an expert on Islam and Muslims in the workplace. She has over 20 years of experience with Fortune 100 companies, government and non-profit organizations and holds a BS in Chemistry and an MBA in Human Resources. Soumaya is involved in many community initiatives to bring people of different backgrounds together. This led to her receiving the highest award provided to a citizen by Atlanta’s Mayor, The Phoenix Award.
Soumaya has served as a cultural expert on such projects as the design and translation of a US defense contractor’s 50 Year Anniversary book and videos commemorating 50 years of business in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. In 2017, she developed an on-line resource on the culture of Saudia Arabia tied to the corporate values of a defense contractor to aid US employees as they interact with Saudi colleagues and clients. In 2016, her company engaged with a Fortune 100 company to implement an on-line training on minority religions in the workplace as part of their Diversity and Inclusion initiatives.
Soumaya is Adjunct Faculty at Emory University Center for Continuing Education where she offers classes in Human Resources certification. At the Federal Executive Institute (FEI), she served as adjunct faculty offering workshops on intercultural communication. FEI is the assessment and development center for the US government’s top talent.
In addition to her strong experience in inter-culture, diversity and inclusion and HR, Soumaya is also a certified Organization Development professional. She has worked with organizations on such topics as strategy development, change management, and organization alignment. She is a certified coach by the Center for Coaching Certification, and is a certified administrator of the Intercultural Development Inventory (IDI) and Cultural Agility.
Soumaya has delivered presentation and cultural competency programs to WalMart, DOW, SABIC, Siemens, UPS, Coca-Cola and many more. She covers the cultural impact on strategy, communication, business development as well as daily life.
Soumaya is a contributing author for the book “Religious Diversity at Work” where she focused on Islam. She has appeared on many television and radio programs and has been featured in several publications such as the New York Times and the Huffington Post.
